Velsen beach is characterized by its location at the mouth of the North Sea Canal, which divides Velsen beach into a northern and southern part.
This page contains information about the southern part of Velsen beach, where a small part, near the border with the municipality of Bloemendaal, nudist recreation is allowed.
Due to the wide beach, with a hard flat surface, the beach is very suitable for all kinds of sports activities such as kite buggy riding, blokarting, kite surfing, flyboarding and kite flying. The beach is divided into different zones, where certain activities are allowed. The nudist beach area is in zone 4; the recreation area, with permitted activities such as swimming and recreation on the beach.
Nudist recreation is allowed between pole 58.0 and 58,425 (the border with the municipality of Bloemendaal). The area is not signposted. The beach is very wide and has an area on the dune side (in front of the fence), where recreation is also allowed in the dunes. There are no facilities on the nudist beach. However, the beach pavilion Beach Inn is located 700 meters from the northern border.
From the nudist beach there is a good view of shipping to and from the North Sea Canal.
There is no direct bath supervision on the beach, the IJmuider Rescue Brigade has two mobile posts on the beach.

Het zwemseizoen is momenteel gesloten, vanaf 1 mei wordt de zwemwaterkwaliteit weer gecontroleerd.
