The beautiful nature reserve with drying mudflats and salt marshes on the other side of the dike.
The flow hole that was created during the 1953 flood disaster was never closed. In the background you can see the drainage opening of the former Serooskerke polder pumping station, now an ideal swimming spot.
The remains of the former Serooskerke polder pumping station on the side of the nature reserve.
In the drainage opening, a shell/pebble beach has formed over the years. Here, even at low tide, the bathing water is easily accessible. Because of the clear water and the rich marine life, you can also snorkel beautifully here.
