General
The Maarsseveense Plassen are located between Utrecht and Maarssen. These puddles were created in the 60s of the last century by sand extraction for the Utrecht neighborhood Overvecht. The Maarsseveense Plassen consist of two lakes with an area of ??20 and 70 hectares respectively. The Strandbad Maarsseveense is located on the northwest side of the Grote Plas
Peeing, with a
area intended for nude recreation. Admission must be paid for this part of the Maarsseveense Plassen.
The so-called outer area on the Grote Plas is freely accessible and has many small recreational fields on the water. Nudist recreation has been tolerated for years on two fields, hidden in the afforestation on the north-east side.
The terrain consists of a small lawn in the forest, there is no sandy beach. Both beaches are also via an unpaved footpath through it
forest connected to each other.
There are no facilities on site.
Swimming at this location is dangerous due to the very steep bottom. The bathing water is clear and generally of good quality. The part of the swimming water at the height of the reeds is 0.50 to 1.6 meters deep, after which the water quickly becomes deeper. There is no defined swimming area.
