Nudist beach Engelermeer

The Engelermeer is a recreational area west of Den Bosch. By means of sand extraction, which took place until 2012, the lake has been expanded to a area of approximately 100 hectares. The Engelermeer is probably located in a remnant of a stretch of old channel of the Meuse; through groundwater, water still flows from the Maas and the Waal to the Lake. The Engelermeer consists of three lakes, the West, East and Noordplas.

Nude recreation has been allowed here since 1993. The area for nudist recreation (2 hectares) is located on the Westplas, on the southwest side of the Engelermeer and is with indicate signs. It is not separated from the adjacent textile beach.

The nudist beach has a large sandy beach with sunbathing areas. There is a toilet building with a shower on the nudist beach. Other facilities on the beach are: badminton tables, a jeu de boules court and a volleyball court.
There is a kiosk 300 meters away on the textile beach. The supervisory post (including first aid) is also located here beach weather is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The nudist beach was opened in 2021 by BlootKompas rated as the best of the Dutch public nudist beaches.

The bathing water is demarcated with floating lines:
1st floating line: water depth 0.60 to 0.80 meters. 2nd floating line: water depth up to approximately 2.00 meters. There is one outside the driving lines swimming raft, which is only intended for experienced swimmers.
