Press release NFN:

Delft mass process touches the core of rights of Dutch nude recreationists.

Amersfoort, January 22, 2014

On Tuesday, January 28, a unique event occurs in the Dutch history. Then the court in The Hague bows concerned about 43 speeding tickets to nude holidaymakers who had been charged in the summer of 2013 were handed out in the Delftse Hout. A total of 20 nude recreationists have not paid their fines because they find unjustified to have been thrown into the recreation area. The NFN agrees with the holidaymakers and jumps in the breach for nude recreation in the Delftse Hout.

Bonnenrain causes unrest
In 2013, the municipality of Delft decided on nude recreation in the Delftse Hout to no longer allow and nude recreationists fine. The measure was an attempt to cause nuisance (especially in the evenings) in the recreation area. The daily checks on the nudist beach led to major unrest, indignation and irritation among the visitors. It As a result, many holidaymakers stayed away or felt intimidated that they put on clothes anyway. A big group of holidaymakers, however, refused to accept the decision of the municipality and was fined. These fines are all going to court at the same time.

NFN is up for grabs
According to the law (article 430a WvS) you can recreate naked on places designated or suitable for this purpose to be. If a location is not officially designated, anyone can so assess for yourself whether a location is suitable for nude recreation. Because people have been exposed in the for 30 years Delftse Hout understand the visitors of the nudist beach and the NFN not why this place would suddenly no longer be suitable for nude recreation. The NFN allows the certified nude holidaymakers with advice and legal support. In addition, nude recreationists and the NFN have been in conversation with the for a year and a half municipality to maintain a good nudist beach in Delft.

Do not abuse the nudist recreation law
The judge will assess all fines on January 28 and will make a decision about whether or not to unsubscribe of the coupons. That ruling goes to the heart of the law nude recreation. Because the verdict of the court is case law for any future cases in which a municipality wants to close a nudist beach to prevent problems that have nothing to do with sunbathing nude recreationists.
