General

The former sand extraction lake is located east of Helmond Berkendonk, which has been used as a recreational lake since 1994. The lake is divided into a western part by a red drift line part for swimming and an eastern part for sailing and windsurfing. Sand extraction came to an end in 2012.

In a small part on the northwest side of the lake nude recreation allowed. The area is clearly marked with signs. The nudist beach is not separated from the textile beach. It has a small sandy beach on the water side a sunbathing area. Recreation in the forest and nature reserve is not allowed.
There are no facilities on the nudist beach, but there are There is a toilet building 70 meters away.

The bathing water has a defined area with a depth of up to 0.5 meters. Even outside the floating line, the water remains shallow for a long time, after which it suddenly becomes deep. The lake is approximately 14 meters deep. There is no direct bathing supervision. On the south side is one rescue post of the Helmond Rescue Brigade present. There is also daily supervision in the area.

Het zwemseizoen is momenteel gesloten, vanaf 1 mei wordt de zwemwaterkwaliteit weer gecontroleerd.
