On the south side of the lake you'll find three forested ones
headlands since the construction of the Berendonck nude recreation
place, but there was no officially designated section to date
nude recreation.
From 2009 has
Leisurelands, the owner of the
Berendonck recreational area, looked for opportunities for extra
generate income from the area, so as to enter the facilities
to maintain the area. In the end it was decided
for the establishment of a large sauna complex on the east side
of the puddle.
With the arrival of the sauna
Thermen Berendonck that opened its doors at the beginning of May 2019,
are big parts of it
area redesigned and the Berendonck now also has one
official nudist beach on the first headland (from the
A73). This area has more or less functioned as a family beach.
In the council meeting of December 20, 2018, the
Wijchen City Council, with the amendment of the APV, the
area officially designated as suitable for nude recreation.

Due to the redesign of the area, the nudist beach is complete
changed. The fixed & nbsp; boarding place for swimming
has lapsed. An earthen wall has now been installed here to provide a view of the sauna complex
Reduce. Furthermore, the beach has become much more open with a spacious one
lawn and a sandy beach on the water. The undergrowth
is at the & nbsp; trees removed so that here on hot days
there is enough shade. At the toilet block is the
rather steep meadow.
There is a small one on the nudist beach
toilet block with an outdoor shower. The terrain is marked out
with a low fence and is only accessible from one side. On
a
info board contains the rules of conduct. The bikes are
removed from the site by a U-shaped entrance and must
be placed in the bicycle shed. In front of
disabled person is a gate present of which against
payment of a deposit a key can be obtained.
The remaining 2 headlands where nude is recreated are
separated by the water and can only go through
the cycle path. There are no facilities here
present. Perhaps to discourage nude recreation here
a huge clearing took place at the end of 2018. There is a kind
open park landscape without undergrowth created with complete
transparency. The gravel paths are complete due to the heavy equipment
destroyed, making the area less accessible. Leisurelands employees with BOA powers regularly supervise here and threaten to penalize nude visitors, as the area is not designated for nude recreation.

The (clear) bathing water on the official nudist beach is easily accessible via the sandy beach.
Unfortunately, the bottom here runs extremely steeply, which means it
bathing water is only suitable for experienced swimmers. There is no
swimming area delimited by a floating line. Also experienced
swimmers have difficulty climbing out of the water again because
the soil is not stable. It is 3 to 4 meters from the side
water too deep to stand. Leisurelands is per
letter of this situation, but want this
do not take measures during the season and comes with generalities: "I would like to point out that a water depth of 10
whether 30 centimeters of potential is life-threatening. "
